Bone Grafts

When a few or all teeth have been missing for years, the body breaks down the bone that used to support those teeth and absorbs it. This missing bone mass means that it may not be possible to place dental implants in these areas. Thinning bone also means that dentures may not fit as well after a year or so.

The solution is to stimulate the body to grow additional bone mass in these areas. With a surgical procedure called
bone grafts, Dr. Montgomery can accomplish this, thus increasing the strength of the bone in a patient’s jaws. With more bone, dental implants become possible and dentures fit better.
