Root Canals

What is a root canal?

To perform a root canal, we open the top of a tooth and clean out the infected or damaged soft tissue within, all the way down the root of the tooth. We then fill the canals with sterilized dental material and close the top of the tooth. Root canals are done to save infected or badly damaged teeth.

Is a root canal painful?

Although each patient is different, most find it no more uncomfortable than getting a large filling. We will make sure you are fully numb before starting any treatment. If you need us to take a break and let you relax for a moment, just let us know.

What if I am anxious about getting a root canal?

We welcome wimps! If anxiety prevents you from getting dental care, we can help by providing medication to relieve your anxiety and pain. Please call us for details
